Join us and explore Cahokia, a prehistoric U.S. city of 20,000 that flourished in AD 1050. Archaeologists call the people who settled here Mississippians, and Cahokia was their crowning achievement. No other North American city would equal Cahokia’s size for another five centuries. The Mississippians left no written language, so it is only recently much is known about their amazing culture. It’s time to put this advanced civilization in its rightful place, equally as integral to our nation’s history as the arrival of Columbus and the European explorers. There are more ancient Indian sites in the U.S. Shoot a video about one near you and upload it here. You can help teach others about North America’s amazing past!
