The Mid-America Student Television Award for Excellence encourages the pursuit of excellence in video production and focuses public attention on outstanding achievements produced by high school students in our region*. All entries must have been originally produced within the Mid-America Region* in the period of time from April 1, 2011to March 31, 2012.
Faculty involvement can only be advisory.
At least two-thirds of an entry must consist of original material, unless previously produced material has been given some unique and creative treatment. Entrants must specifically identify and give credit to all non-original material included in the entry. This includes music use.
Entries must be submitted as they were originally produced, but need not have been telecast, cablecast or webcast. Submission of the hard copy completed entry form and accompanying payment of $25 per entry by fax or mail is required for entry in the competition. Entries submitted without the entry form and payment will not be considered.
Deadline for entries is April 2, 2012.

To Submit an Entry
1. Students & Teachers must register for a free SchoolTube account to be able to submit an entry. Register here. 2. Successfully upload your video to the Mid-America Student Television Awards for Excellence channel. PLEASE NOTE: When uploading a video onto SchoolTube, please enter the Category Number, Category Name, Title of Entry, and Mid-America NATAS in the 'tags" section during the upload. 3. Wait approximately 1 hour (for encoding) and return to the Mid-America Student Television Awards for Excellence channel to find your video and view it. 4. Submit entry form and payment to NATAS Mid-America. Payment information is listed on the entry form. See below for entry form.
Judging
Judging will be by industry professionals in the Mid-America region.
Winning entries will be announced May 15, 2012
Prizes
Student Pillars will be presented to the winning schools at the Mid-America annual EMMY Gala on September 22, 2012 at the Midland Theater in Kansas City, MO.
