The Upper Midwest Student Television Award for Excellence - High School

The Upper Midwest Student Television Award for Excellence, which promotes best practices to high school students, is intended to be an incentive for the pursuit of excellence in television journalism and focus public attention on outstanding achievements in television by high school students. All programs or program segments conceived, produced and executed by students at a high school, charter or vocational school within the Upper Midwest designated award area between January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011 are eligible for student award consideration. A crystal pillar is awarded in this area for excellence in a program, segment or craft produced and executed by students during the eligibility year.  Entry must be validated by a professor/teacher.  

Faculty involvement can only be advisory. 

Entries must be submitted as they were originally transmitted. The same material may not be entered in more than one category. Submission of the entry form and accompanying payment of $30 per entry by credit card or check is required for entry in the competition. Entries submitted without the  Entry Form (file missing!)  and payment will not be considered. Please review  Official Rules (file missing!)  for more information.

Entries must be successfully uploaded to the Upper Midwest NATAS Chapter High School Channel by February 9, 2012. 

To Submit an Entry

1. Submit entry form and payment to NATAS Upper Midwest. Payment information is listed in the official rules. See below for official rules.
2. Students & Teachers must register for a free SchoolTube account to be able to submit an entry. Register here.
3. Successfully upload your video to the Upper Midwest High School Student Television Awards for Excellence channel. PLEASE NOTE: When uploading a video onto SchoolTube, please enter the Category Number, Category Name, Title of Entry, and Upper Midwest NATAS in the 'tags" section during the upload. Please set the video to Just My School when uploading your entry to SchoolTube.

The Upper Midwest Student Television Awards for Excellence - College/University

The Upper Midwest Student Television Awards for Excellence encourages the pursuit of excellence by those studying the television industry and multimedia journalism and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment, news and informational achievements in television by undergraduate college students. All programs or program segments conceived, produced and executed by students at a university, college or technical/vocational school within the Upper Midwest designated award area between January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011 are eligible for student award consideration. A crystal pillar is awarded in this area for excellence in a program, segment or craft produced and executed by students during the eligibility year.  Entry must be validated by a professor/teacher.

Submission of the entry form and accompanying payment of $30 per entry by credit card or check is required for entry in the competition.
