QUESTIONS RELATED TO VIEWING VIDEOS
What are SchoolTube's minimum system requirements?
- Macromedia Flash Player 8.0+ plug-in (some browsers require Flash Player 9.0)
- Windows 2000 or higher with latest updates installed
- Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
- Firefox 1.1+, Internet Explorer 5.0+, or Safari 1.0+
- Broadband connection with 500+ Kbps
You may view videos by selecting a channel such as Arts & Entertainment, Education or News and Journalism. When you select a channel, you open the page for that channel and a video from that channel will start playing. To view the programs within a channel, click on a program name in the navigation popup. To see the programs contained in a channel just move your cursor over a channel name. Click on a program name and the VidoePlex will open in a new window, displaying the program you selected.
What do I need to have to view the videos?
You need a Windows or Macintosh computer with an internet connection and Flash 8 player (or higher) installed. Most computers currently accept and play Flash media without any action required.
Do I need a plugin to view the videos (and just what is a plugin?)
You should not need to use a plugin to view SchoolTube videos. If you have an older computer that is not Flash enabled, a free version of the Flash player is available here. (A plugin is a small program that installs into another program and extends the capabilities of the original program - older versions of web browsers used these frequently).
