The National Education Association's Read Across America is building a nation of readers by helping children and teens celebrate the joy of reading all year long. Read Across America helps educators and parents and you can too with posters, grants, and resources at www.nea.org/readacross.

The program's signature event is NEA's Read Across America Day, celebrated on or around March 2, the birthday of the beloved Dr. Seuss. More than 45 million children, teens and adults take part every year.

The National Education Association is the nation's largest professional employee organization, representing 3.2 million elementary and secondary teachers, higher education faculty, education support professionals, school administrators, retired educators and students preparing to become teachers.
