From the land to the lab, FFA members are some of the busiest kids in school. With more than 500,000 members in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, they're learning valuable leadership skills and preparing for amazing careers in agriculture.
The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, was founded in 1928. From forestry to aquaculture to politics, FFA members get real-world experiences through their activities and projects. Students age 12-21 who are enrolled in agricultural education classes can be a part of their school's FFA chapter.
Throughout the year, members take part in community service, compete for awards, care for animals, give speeches, apply for scholarships, build greenhouses and much more. The national FFA convention is the nation's largest annual youth gathering.
Want to start an FFA chapter in your school? Check out FFA.org, call 317-802-6060 or contact your state's FFA association.
