Rapoport Academy is a public charter school in Waco, TX serving 375 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Founded in 1998, the academy will graduate its first senior class in May 2010. Rapoport Academy serves a diverse student body, 70% of whom are economically disadvantaged. Rapoport Academy provides a rigorous college-preparatory program that yields outstanding test scores and prepares all students for success in college and beyond. Rapoport Academy's Paul and Jane Meyer Public High School has been designated as an official Early College High School (ECHS) by Texas Education Agency and has received a multi-year grant award to support ECHS and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs at the middle school and high school from Texas High School Project (funded by Gates, Dell, and others). Rapoport Academy was founded to serve students in the economically depressed section of East Waco, and the academy is committed to revitalizing Quinn Campus (former home of Paul Quinn College) as an investment in the East Waco community.
