Meteorology is the study of weather and weather forecasting. Most of us are amateur meteorologists to some degree. Anytime we look outside and predict it will rain or snow, we are forecasting. Meteorologists just use a lot more data and analysis to formulate their forecasts. As with many other careers, a degree is required to be a meteorologist. So staying in school is a must. Furthermore, you must love science and math (particularly equations)! When most of us hear the job title meteorologist, we think of the person on TV. The TV weather anchor is definitely the glamour position in the field, but what kind of careers can a meteorologist have outside of TV? WeatherBug's meteorologist Rachel Peterson delves more into this subject.
