Sixth graders at LEMS participated in Career Day. They heard from a different speaker every thirty minutes and throughout the day had an opportunity to take notes on various careers. They were able to ask the presenters questions about the education level and skills required for their jobs, as well as theirlikes and dislikes of each occupation. Students heard from community members in the medical field, law enforcement, communications, eduation, and a variety of others. Occupations included: a registered nurse, chiropractor, reporter, public relations director,US Marshall, investigator, sheriff's deputy, professional wrestler, game warden, recreation director, superintendent of schools, and members of the SC House of Representatives. Students concluded their day by writing reflections about new information they learned and which career they would like to know more about.
