Emerson Student Council 6th Grade Character Education Committee presents the monthly character trait, "Cooperation and Good Sportsmanship", in a skit on kickball - a favorite recess activity. The Character Education lessons are presented to the entire school at the monthly assembly. Students who display the monthly character trait are awarded as "Waldo Students of the Month" and receive recognition from the Principal at the school assembly, along with a certificate, Waldo pencil, and a "Waldo Student of Character" button from Student Council.
