Fourth grade students first created a scale model of the solar system. They then designed a Lego robot to ?olaunch? to their planet of choice. In order to accomplish this they ran time trials to determine the velocity of the robot in cm/s. Knowing the distance to their planet, they divided the distance by their velocity to determine the time it takes to reach their planet. Robots were programmed to stop after that set amount of time, turn on a light, and then return to Earth. Here are some of the results. . . .
