Tommy Hodges (Digital Media Instructor at Middle Creek High School in Apex, North Carolina) was asked to create a video open for the opening ceremony at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The intention was to get the crowd of 2000 students and teachers from all around the state pumped before the ceremony started. It worked. To make sure everyone enjoyed the video, he placed every county in the state of North Carolina in the video. The video was created using After Effects, Final Cut Express (which I hate), 2 photographs, and some video of paint splatter. The video was a hit at the competition. It is highly likely that he will be asked next year (2009) to make a new open to trump this one.
