This presentation outlines some of the highlights from the 2010-2011 Murphey Candler Technology Club. This group was facilitated by the Teacher-Librarian, Sue Levine @staffdevjnkie.The purpose of this video is to show how Web 2.0 tools inspire, motivate, and excite students. This video was crafted to give the viewer a âpeek into our worldâ and I hope it meets this goal. I attempted to cultivate a fun, supportive, affirming environment for the students to encourage risk taking in their learning. I had never done this before and so I kept the group size small and manageable. I have been reflecting on what I will do differently next year and have concluded that I want to keep the group small so that I can give the students adequate attention. Many people think that students do not need much attention and that they can just hit the ground running when they are provided with a computer. Technically, this might be true; they can figure out how to turn things and and navigate screens etc. But in this group, I worked with each student individually as they constructed meaning from their world to encourage them to envision and design work products that would closely match their interests and I found it rewarding to be able to visit with each student with this purpose in mind.
