The program annually awards 102 college scholarships to high school seniors (a male and female from each state and the District of Columbia) who are interested in pursing a career in journalism and are free spirits. Winners receive $1,000 college scholarships, participate at an all-expense paid journalism conference in Washington D.C. and two top students will receive $50,000 college scholarships each.
