In This Book
Parts of an Apple Read Aloud | All About Apples
Apples can come in all different colors, shapes and size.
Some are green and sour to eat.

Others are red and sometimes sweet!

Our apples have many different parts. Let’s take a look on the outside to start.

The outside of an apple is called the skin. Some people peel it before they begin.

At the top of an apple is a leaf and a stem, but when we buy them, there’s no leaf on them.

Inside the apple we are in for a treat! It’s called the flesh - the part that we eat.

In the middle there is the core. But inside that there’s even more!

There are some seeds in the core, to plant in the ground and grow some more!

Pick up an apple and take a bite to see if we got all the apple parts right!

Why is read aloud important?

"The U.S. Department of Education Commission on Reading took into account over 10,000 studies and found that the most important activity for building the skills and background for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children."

At Mr. Corder’s Kid Books Read Aloud, I try and find the most exciting and interesting books for kids. Reading is one of the most important skills for children in preschool, kindergarten, first and second grade to develop (and in the higher grades of course). Read Aloud kids books are just another way to help students develop this love for reading!
