Anne Frank

This animated film adaptation of Anne Frank’s Diary brings to life the pages of the book. This is a great piece to accompany the reading of the book. Usually, the class would be assigned to read the book in its entirety before watching the movie, however, I believe you could also have students read a portion of the book then show the matching portion of the movie. I believe this would encourage students to read on and help those who may have fallen behind in the reading catch up.

This story is not just about World War II, the Holocaust, and the other tragedies of the 1940s. This is the story of a young woman experiencing all these things and more. That is why we chose to celebrate Anne Frank’s life and the legacy she left behind during Women’s History Month. However, her story is worth studying at any time of the year.
