'Travel and English Literature' Trinity Elective - Dr Pádraic Whyte, School of English describes if you have a passion for all things travel-related, if you want to evaluate diverse representations of travel in poetry, novels, and stories, if you want to develop your skills as a critical reader and thinker- then this is the Trinity Elective for you. This is a team-taught Elective that will open up new ways of thinking about literary texts, about different cultures and peoples, and about societal challenges and how these factors can impact on the movement of individuals – who has the agency and power to travel, and why? – providing you with essential skills that will continue to serve you as a global citizen. Trinity Electives are stand-alone 5 ECTS modules outside of students’ core disciplines.
