Grade Level: 9-12

Subject: Free Time/Recreation

Objective: Students will explore and engage in various fun activities to combat boredom, encouraging creativity and personal enjoyment during leisure time.

Materials Needed: None

Procedure:

1. Introduction (10 minutes):
- Engage students by discussing the concept of boredom and the importance of finding enjoyable activities during free time.
- Explain that the goal of the lesson is to provide a list of fun activities to do when feeling bored.

2. Brainstorming Session (15 minutes):
- Instruct students to brainstorm and write down activities they enjoy doing during their free time when they are bored.
- Encourage students to think beyond screen time and consider activities that promote creativity, physical activity, or learning.

3. Presentation of Activities (20 minutes):
- Present a list of 10 fun activities to do when bored, including a brief description of each activity.
- Activities can include:
a) DIY crafts or art projects
b) Outdoor games or sports
c) Reading a book or writing short stories
d) Trying out new recipes or cooking/baking
e) Exploring a hobby, such as photography or playing a musical instrument
f) Creating a vision board or setting goals
g) Volunteering or helping others in the community
h) Starting a journal or blog
i) Going for a hike or nature walk
j) Learning a new skill or language through online tutorials or courses

4. Group Discussion (15 minutes):
- Facilitate a group discussion where students share their thoughts and experiences related to the presented activities.
- Encourage students to discuss the benefits of each activity and share any personal stories or tips.

5. Student Activity Planning (20 minutes):
- Instruct students to choose one or more activities from the list or their own brainstormed ideas.
- Have students create a plan for when and how they will engage in the chosen activities during their leisure time.
- Encourage students to set goals and consider any necessary materials or resources.

6. Reflection and Sharing (10 minutes):
- Ask students to reflect on their experience trying out the chosen activities and their impact on their boredom levels.
