⁣Lesson Plan: DIY Automatic Garden Hand Wash Water Dispenser Bottle

Lesson Objectives:
- Students will understand the importance of proper hand hygiene, especially in outdoor settings like gardens.
- Students will learn about the engineering and design process involved in creating an automatic garden hand wash water dispenser bottle.
- Students will be able to explain the steps and techniques used to make the dispenser bottle.

Materials:
- Empty plastic bottle (clean and dry)
- Rubber tubing or hose
- PVC pipe (cut into desired length)
- Water container or reservoir
- Valve or faucet
- Hose connector or adapter
- Zip ties or clamps
- Scissors
- Water source (garden hose or water supply)

Procedure:
1. Begin the lesson by discussing the importance of hand hygiene, particularly when working in a garden or outdoor setting.
2. Show the students examples of automatic hand wash water dispensers or use images/videos to familiarize them with the final product.
3. Explain to the students that they will be designing and creating their own automatic garden hand wash water dispenser bottle.
4. Distribute the materials to each student or group of students.
5. Instruct the students to cut a hole in the plastic bottle cap that is large enough for the rubber tubing or hose to fit through.
6. Attach one end of the rubber tubing or hose to the hole in the bottle cap using zip ties or clamps to secure it tightly.
7. Connect the other end of the rubber tubing or hose to the PVC pipe, ensuring a tight fit.
8. Attach the water container or reservoir to a stable surface or stand, ensuring it is positioned higher than the dispenser bottle to allow for gravity flow.
9. Attach the valve or faucet to the water container or reservoir, ensuring it is securely fastened.
10. Connect the hose connector or adapter to the valve or faucet, and connect the other end to the PVC pipe, ensuring a tight fit.
11. Position the dispenser bottle in a convenient location within the garden, ensuring it is easily accessible for handwashing.
12. Connect the water source (garden hose or water supply) to the valve or faucet, allowing water to flow into the water container or reservoir.
13. Test the automatic garden hand wash water dispenser by turning on the water source and observing the water flow through the rubber tubing or hose into the dispenser bottle.
14. Discuss the design, functionality, and importance of hand hygiene in outdoor settings like gardens.

Assessment:
- Observe students' engagement and participation during the activity.
