Lesson Objectives:
- Students will understand the principles of air suction and how they can be applied to create a vacuum cleaner using a hair dryer.

Materials:
- Hair dryer
- Empty plastic bottle (clean and dry)
- Plastic container or box
- Scissors
- Duct tape or strong adhesive tape
- Fine mesh or nylon stocking fabric
- Rubber band
- Small objects for testing (e.g., crumbs, small pieces of paper)

Procedure:
1. Begin the lesson by discussing the principles of air suction and how they can be utilized in vacuum cleaners.
2. Show the students examples of vacuum cleaners or use images/videos to familiarize them with the final product.
3. Explain to the students that they will be designing and creating their own vacuum cleaner using a hair dryer.
4. Distribute the materials to each student or group of students.
5. Instruct the students to cut a hole in the plastic container or box that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the hair dryer nozzle.
6. Attach the hair dryer securely to the hole using duct tape or strong adhesive tape, ensuring a tight seal.
7. Cut the bottom of the plastic bottle and discard it. This will serve as the collection chamber for the vacuum cleaner.
8. Cut a piece of fine mesh or nylon stocking fabric larger than the opening of the plastic bottle.
9. Securely attach the fabric over the opening of the bottle using a rubber band, creating a filter.
10. Insert the open end of the plastic bottle into the hole in the plastic container or box, ensuring a tight fit.
11. Test the vacuum cleaner by turning on the hair dryer and placing small objects in front of the opening. Observe the suction and collection of debris.
12. Discuss the design, functionality, and potential applications of the homemade vacuum cleaner.

Assessment:
- Observe students' engagement and participation during the activity.
- Evaluate students' understanding of the principles of air suction and the engineering and design process through class discussions.
