Subject: Cooking and Science

Duration: 30 minutes

- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.K.2: Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic.
- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.K.5: Add drawings or other visual displays to descriptions as desired to provide additional detail.
- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.K.5: Sort common objects into categories to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent.

Objectives:
- Students will watch I Can Cook Full Episode Compilation #13.
- Students will ask and answer questions about key details in the episodes.
- Students will create an informative/explanatory text about one of the recipes featured in the episodes.
- Students will add drawings or visual displays to their texts to provide additional detail.
- Students will sort common cooking objects into categories based on their concepts.

Materials:
- I Can Cook Full Episode Compilation #13 (available on appropriate platforms)
- Paper and writing utensils for students
- Drawing materials (crayons, markers, etc.)
- Common cooking objects (e.g., measuring spoons, mixing bowls, spatulas)
- Sorting categories (e.g., utensils, ingredients, appliances)

Procedure:

1. Introduction (5 minutes):
- Introduce the topic of cooking and the I Can Cook Full Episode Compilation #13.
- Explain that students will watch the compilation and learn about different recipes and scientific concepts related to cooking.

2. Watching the Compilation (15 minutes):
- Play the I Can Cook Full Episode Compilation #13 for the students.
- Instruct students to pay close attention to the recipes and scientific concepts presented in the episodes.
