⁣Lesson Plan: I Can Cook Season 3 Compilation #5

Grade Level: K-2

Subject: Home Economics

Duration: 30 minutes

- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.K.2: Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts.
- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.1.1: Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.2.5: Create audio recordings of stories or poems; add drawings or other visual displays to stories or recounts of experiences when appropriate to clarify ideas, thoughts, and feelings.

Objectives:
- Students will watch Compilation #5 from I Can Cook Season 3.
- Students will identify various cooking activities and recipes shown in the compilation.
- Students will create an informative/explanatory text about their favorite cooking activity or recipe.
- Students will ask and answer questions about key details in the compilation.
- Students will add drawings or visual displays to their informative/explanatory texts.

Materials:
- Compilation #5 from I Can Cook Season 3 (available on appropriate platforms)
- Paper and writing utensils for students
- Drawing materials (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.)

Procedure:

1. Introduction (5 minutes):
- Introduce the topic of cooking and the compilation from I Can Cook Season 3.
- Explain that students will watch a compilation of various cooking activities and recipes.

2. Watching the Compilation (15 minutes):
- Play Compilation #5 from I Can Cook Season 3 for the students.
- Instruct students to pay close attention to the different cooking activities and recipes shown in the compilation.

3. Identifying Cooking Activities and Recipes (5 minutes):
- Engage students in a class discussion to identify the cooking activities and recipes shown in the compilation.
- Encourage students to recall key details and share their observations.

4. Creating Informative/Explanatory Texts (10 minutes):
- Instruct students to choose their favorite cooking activity or recipe from the compilation.
- Provide each student with paper and writing utensils.
- Encourage students to use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose an informative/explanatory text about their chosen cooking activity or recipe.
- Remind students to include key details and explanations.

5. Asking and Answering Questions (5 minutes):
- Conduct a brief Q&A session, asking students questions about key details in the compilation.

6. Adding Drawings or Visual Displays (5 minutes):
