- Assorted American candies (e.g., Hershey's chocolate bars, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Skittles, M&M's, Twizzlers, etc.)
- Small plates or bowls for candy samples
- Napkins or paper towels for cleanliness
- Optional: Video recording equipment for documentation
Procedure:
1. Introduction (10 minutes):
- Engage students in a discussion about cultural differences and how food can be a reflection of a country's culture.
- Introduce the concept of a taste test activity where they will try American candies and share their thoughts.
2. Cultural Background Research (15 minutes):
- Instruct students to research the cultural significance of American candies and their popularity in the United States.
- Encourage them to explore the history, ingredients, and marketing strategies behind each candy.
